Liverpool collective Bonnacons of Doom are set to release a new four-track EP on September 13th via Rocket Recordings. The EP is titled Esus and it is made up of a new composition also called ‘Esus’ and three incredible remixes of songs taken from their S/T debut album.
JD Twitch – one half of the legendary Scottish DJ / label owners and NTS resident team Optimo has turned album opener ‘Solus’ into a sub-bass heavy, psychedelic, caveman stomp of the highest order. Track three sees ‘Australia’ via Brooklyn’s’ kings of avant-punk-electronica Liars take Bonnacons’ track ‘Industria’ and deconstruct it into looping drones of noise, feedback and subtle melodies. Finally, sonic explorers Capac take the track ‘Solus’ and strip it back to an otherworldly, minimalist soundscape of fuzz, voice and stripped back percussion.
The lead track, ‘Esus’ is a deliciously heavy track where Kate Smith‘s vocals are in this symbiotic dance with the tracks’ instrumental counterparts. It draws you in and spits you out leaving you wanting more.
The EP is being released on ltd edition cassette and DL from here. Listen to the title track here via this incredible video:
