Danish prog-rock group Red Lama are gearing up to deliver new full length Motions next week via All Good Clean Records, and right after the first listening it’s clear that Red Lama are more confident and mature than before. Taking things up a few notches from their earlier work Dreams Are Free by adding elements of kraut rock, progressive and art rock of the 80’s to their psychedelic and kaleidoscopic rock sound.

hile many prog-rock bands create albums that drone on for a little longer than they should, Red Lama have crafted an engaging and diverse record with Motions. Keyboard player Morten comments: “We started with the working title “sunrise”. We wanted to describe the feeling of a new day. So it made sense for us to make it the opening track of Motions and the beginning of the next chapter of Red Lama. The song has both a dark and a bright side, like a whole day, but also like humans or friendships. It takes time to know both sides, but eventually you will figure out that dark and light sides are each other’s perfect strangers.”

Motions will be released on February 23rd and is available for pre-order through here. Listen to the album’s opening track ‘Perfect Strangers’ here:
