Fresh from a nomination in the Limelight category of this year’s Progressive Music Awards, Newcastle based progressive rock band Kylver will release their new album The Island in October, which is the eagerly awaited follow up release to last year’s excellent The Mountain Ghost release.
Asking the band about The Island they said that there’s again a concept behind the album: “A privateer ship sets sail from the British isles, hired to find a mythical island in the Atlantic that is said to be a portal to another world. After setting sail the ship is caught and destroyed in a storm with only one survivor who finds him self washed up on a beach, which he discovers to be the island. He finds the portal that transports him to an alien world where he encounters an advanced race with a great wealth of knowledge. What he learns from the great race blows his mind and is too much for them to let him return to earth with it so before sending him back they erase his memory. The twist in the story is that the alien race send our guy back in time to the eve before the ship sets sail for its fated voyage and his life becomes an infinite loop… That’s the short version.”
The album is available to pre-order on the 9th of September and is released on the 6th of October. Keep your eyes pealed on Kylver’s website and Facebook page for more info.
